Just wanted to let you  know, there's a app called Backpack Brawl that looks like your game. Don't know if it's you or not.

hi great game thank you for putting in the time and the effort to make this

beep boop

(+2)(-2)

No male characters.

What is this coomer garbage?

(+2)(-3)

assuming genders what a degenerate!

(-1)

i'm p sure they're kinda going for a magical girls kinda vibe

also furcifer's right there, full he/him guydude man

(+1)(-2)

Since the demo has fake multiplayer, will the full game have fake multiplayer?

(+1)

Full game is already out, it does have pre-recorded battles / backpacks. these are all real people.

(+1)(-1)

So they're real people, the game just loads builds which were already made before I play, thus I can play without any internet?

(+1)

the game uses internet to find a recent build someone did, back when this demo recieved updates, you would notice that the people you would fight the same person more than usual.

I haveonly tried to play without internet once and it didnt work. so i cant confirm.

(+1)(-1)

I basically waited for it to load and turned off the internet.

(1 edit) (+2)

someone from china made a 1 to 1 copy of the game on IOS, its there for a week now apparently

(+1)

I came here to contact for same reason, good one!

(-1)

snitch

(+1)

what is the strats to win

(+1)

buy everything on sale and later sell it to buy good shit

(+1)

thanks will try

(-4)

that is the worst strat ever, when a item is on sale, it cost the same price it sells for aka you make no profit

(+1)

but the items prevent u from dieing early

(+2)

im in grandmaster, buy stuff on sale, and sell it later, best build for ranger is spikes with poison ivy

Do you do just the whip or fuse it into the sword?  I'm starting to think the whip is better on its own since the sword needs regen.

(+1)

full version on mac please !!!

(+1)

diamond ranger is hard to break out of.

(+1)

good game

(+8)(-1)

After 100 losses, I finally beat this without doing any damage, other than fatigue. No spikes, no attacks, no poison. Just fatigue and heals.

(-2)

woman left you?

(+1)(-1)

you should upgrade those to moon shields, despite seeming like a minor change, they can also block ranged and magic attacks, leading to more goobert. i will say you might have struggled to find that many mana orbs. but if you didnt know.

try restarting ur computer

My computer soft crashed in the middle of a game (of backpack battles) last night, and now it crashes on launch every time. I own on steam, and yes I have tried reinstalling and verifying file integrity.

Do you plan to sell this on itchio? Please respond?

Hi. Played full version on steam. Love your game, but i found a bug. Met it 2 times. Some effects may not work the whole battle.
I have screenshots. If you are interested, reply me.

warning eggscalibur with full berries isn't that good because egg only activates on attack(1.5s)

but it's still very fun

(+1)

:skull: how is magic torch so op

(-8)

so is this just backpack hero

(-9)

seems like a blatant ripoff

(3 edits) (+1)(-3)

You mean this backpack hero?

https://thejaspel.itch.io/backpack-hero

They seem different enough to me, even with the same main fighting idea.

Edit: I played backpack hero for hours, it's so fun. Roguelike turn-based dungeon crawling. Not  auto PvP.

(+4)(-1)

what do u mean ripoff this is so much more different

(+1)

Add a botton to login with Steam in html version plis.

We can play the full game on smartphone.

I think you could provide an log replay feature, which is nice for review details

(+1)

Do you plan to sell this on Itchio?

(+1)

You don't have linux version, which I would buy one

(+2)

I've had a crippling addiction to the demo since 2023. It's addicting.

Another challenge down being no commons other than the starting items

I'm probably going to make myself a thread of challenges I've beaten at this point, like only grabbing fused/objects required to fuse items

Reached Master-0 rank. Getting through the diamond ranks required winning almost every single match 10/10 and then getting 3+ out of the extended matches.

What does it take to advance in Master? 15/15 on every game?!

(+3)

Managed to win without taking weapons, I feel proud of myself.

letss gooo

In my past time playing the game, I have found some small shortcomings that I hope the developers can do better:

1, the first and most important problem is that the matching mechanism is unstable, and it is difficult to have a good game experience when the rank rises to a certain stage. As for why, it will be explained in the following points.

2,The payoff of money does not match the two stages of a game.Because of the matching mechanism, it is likely that in a high enough level, players do not consider hoarding money in the early stage, but choose to choose strong equipment as much as possible to get through the early stage, and in the later stage, because the gold coins given each time can almost support consumption, so to a large extent, hoarding money in the game brings little benefit. This will have a great impact on the game cycle of different professions. For example, Fire Lady will have more fire to sell in the early stage to gain more advantages, while Ranger may not be able to do damage because he can't save enough four-leaf clovers.

3,Why not try to add an artificial intelligence algorithm training mechanism, select a role to confront themselves, and make their own choices from the other side's line-ups to strategically line-ups against the other side?Or use a similar method to match other players, I think it will be more playable.(If you want to train this algorithm, you can come to me. I'm thinking about a job after graduation🤣).

(-3)

Love the game so far!
Please keep the chibis! They are very cute! ❤️

Really loved the first versions of this game, played lots of hours,  but now it keeps getting worse and worse with each update. There are too many items and too many possible strategies, which makes the game too requiring attention and time for experimenting with mechanics and it looks like the author is not going to stop further inflating and sees the future in infinite pumping of game content making the possible count of strategies much higher than the player's brain could contain. Thanks for the first versions, loved them, and now it's time to find something fresh to play

(+10)

More items and more strategies is a good thing??? It would get super boring if you had to do the same strategy every time.  It's great that the devs have been constantly updating the game by adding and balancing items. (and more skins! :) )
The more recent addition of the item list definitely makes the "too many items to keep track of" issue manageable. It's great to have a game that has a "wiki" built in.

They seem pretty passionate about this game and it has been great to see it grow since I first played it on release. :)

That being said; there will probably be a point where there are too many items in the pool, so it would be hard to go a certain strategy because you may never see the items you need. Maybe at that point they can implement some sort of "remove item from pool" function or maybe "decks/subclasses" where you can choose what items show up for you. I know they already have certain items per class, but there may need to be something to help lessen the item pool further if more items are added.

more items is both good and bad,if there are too many items with builds that are more specific, getting a build you want to do will be harder, but if there are too little items the game will become repeatative quickly,so the key is that you need very good synergy so that nomatter what RNjesus gives you,you can create a good build with it.(I may not be absolutely correct but I think I have a point)
